UGA football letterman Damon Evans was selected as Director of
Athletics in December, 2003, and assumed the duties of succeeding
long time athletic director Vince Dooley on July 1, 2004. Evans had
served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs
from 2000-2004 returning to his alma mater in 1998 as Associate
Athletic Director for Internal Affairs.Having assumed his current
duties at the age of 34, he is one of the youngest directors of
athletics in the country. .
